The tramway serving Birmingham, Wolverhampton and the West Midlands conurbation between was inaugurated 25 years ago, on 30 May 1999.
To mark the occasion the West Midlands Combined Authority invited school children in the region to design a 25th anniversary logo that could be applied to the CAF trams serving the line today.
From more than 200 entries, the winning design was created by nine-year-old Pargunn Kaur Birring from Wattville Primary School in Handsworth. The first time the logo was applied to a tram in the presence of Pargunn, her teacher and newly elected West Midlands mayor Richard Parker on the anniversary date.
Metro Managing Director Sophie Allison presented Wattville Primary School with a cheque for £500.
