Another four Skoda trams for Brandenburg

Verkehrsbetriebe Brandenburg-an-der-Havel GmbH, the public transport operator in the German city of Brandenburg, west of Berlin, has exercised an option in its original contract with Skoda Group, and ordered four more ForCity Plus 48T three-section 71% low-floor trams with swivelling bogies. This will increase the total number of this type in the fleet from four to eight. The original four were delivered as part of a joint order with other metre-gauge tramways, in Cottbus and Frankfurt-an-der-Oder. The 28.96m single-ended trams can carry up to 151 passengers each (51 seated), and are air-conditioned with spacious multi-function areas to facilitate travel for passengers with reduced mobility, and those travelling with pushchairs and bicycles.

Brandenburg has been served by electric trams since 1911 and now has two lines totalling 16.3km, operated by a fleet of 21 trams.
