In an addition to our 2025 new tramways list, it is now apparent that the CNY 6.5bn north–south Jiyang line in the city of Jinan can be classed as a tramway, the first in Shandong province. This 36.1km line opened on 30 December 2025, linking Jinandong (North) railway station and Jiyang North via a bridge crossing the Yellow River and the Convention and Exhibition Center. The whole line is on dedicated right-of-way, but vehicles are three-section low-floor trams; no details on fleet size or builder are known.

Service is provided every 15/20 minutes 06.00-21.00 and there is a flat fare of CNY 2. Construction started in September 2022. Jinan also opened three new metro lines on 27 December, bringing the network to 182.4km. There are now 24 Chinese cities with tramways.
