Since mid-October, the Stadler Tramlink in the Swiss capital have been used regularly on both line 6 and the interurban route to Gümligen and Worb. The Tramlink of the municipal operator Bernmobil have been in revenue service since November 2023, initially deployed on line 7.

The recent launch on the overland line 6 now also marks the gradual replacement of the vintage 1987/88 Tram 2000 double-ended units, which are locally distinct because of their blue livery and ownership by the partner company Regionalverkehr Bern-Solothurn (RBS), which owns and operates the infrastructure of the interurban route to Worb.

The complete withdrawal and previewed scrapping of the type Be 4/10 Tram 2000 is planned by autumn 2025 the latest. Currently and for the next few months the Tramlink will therefore still operate on six workings on line 6 in combination with both the high-floor Tram 2000 and the low-floor Siemens Combino.
