Calgary City Council has approved a revised Green light rail transit Phase 1 project scope, capital funding request and delivery model, as recommened by the Green Line Board, to ensure construction can begin while responsibly addrressing the cost of inflation that is impacting all major infrastructure projects in North America.

Responding to rising costs and potentail future increases whilst maximising all benefits listed in the original approved business case, the revised recommmendations were based on the extensive work undertaken to reduce costs and drive value optimisation.

The Phase 1 project is the largest infrastructure investment in the city's history with more than C$1.4 billion (EUR925m) spent on land acquisition, utility upgrades and LRV fleet which is expected to arrive in late 2027.
The Green Line will open the city for Southeast Calgarians (Project Calgary)
