In the Danish capital København (Copenhagen) passenger service on the southern section of the western orbital light rail line from Rødovre Nord to Ishøj via Gladsaxe and Vallensbaek will start on 26 October with a day of free travel. Initial frequency will be every 10 minutes (8 minutes at peaks). This is the first part of DKK 5.3bn, 27km, standard-gauge line linking Lundtofte and Ishøj, with the northern section due to follow in summer 2026. The Danish state is contributing 40% towards the cost. End-to-end journey time will be 56 minutes and 13-14M passengers/year are expected. 29 36.9m four-section Siemens Avenio have been delivered from the factory at Kragujevac in Serbia, each with a capacity of 258 passengers (64 seated).
