Denver RTD completes phase 1 of project ahead of schedule
The work by Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) to reconstruct light-rail track and infrastructure at five key intersections in the Downtown Loop has been completed three weeks ahead of schedule.

The project was initailly scheduled to run through mid-September and conclude ahead of planned service changes at the end of the month. Subsequet phases of the the project will begin in 2025 and a final timeline is still in development.

This project has been the first of its kind in Denver RTD's history and focused on modernising the agency's oldest rail infrastructure to improve both safety and mobility.

Although the work has been completed, light rail will not return to Denver's Central Business District for some weeks yet as the system continues to implement planned service changes, perform maintenance work and increase reliability.
The celebrations started with a gathering of dignitaries on tram 100. (Stern & Hafferl
