Federal funding of CAD 500 000 from the Building Communities Strong Fund has been announced for a feasibility and technical study of light rail between Victoria West and Langford returning passenger service to the rail alignment in Victoria, BC. CAD 523 100 will also come from the Capital Regional District. If the results are viable and Business Plan will be developed in 2027. Passenger rail service on Vancouver Island ended in 2011.
