ZET, the tramway operator in Zagreb, Croatia, has started taking delivery of 24 NT2400 trams from Croatian manufacturer Koncar. An initial order for 20 trams costing EUR 37.8M was placed in J~une 2023, but this has subsequently been extended to 40. The 20.8m three-section low-floor trams can carry 115 passengers and are equipped with a ramp to permit wheelchair access. They are equipped with batteries to permit short moves away from the overhead wire. The first 20 trams should be delivered this year, and the subsequent 20 in 2026. Meanwhile ZET is preparing a tender for up to 40 longer trams, that all together should permit the complete replacement of its high-floor fleet.

The 116.3km meter-gauge network in Zagreb dates from 1891 (horse) and 1910 (electric). 15 lines carry nearly 600 000 passengers/day. The system already has 140 low-floor trams built by the Koncar-led Crotram consortium in 2003-2010.
