On 5 September, the fully modernised Muzeum tram stop re-opened in Prague, roughly six months ahead of the originally scheduled completion date. The halt currently serves lines 11 and 13 and is located behind the National Museum’s landmark main building (dating from 1891) at the intersection of the busy thoroughfares Legerova and Vinohradská. During roughly 15 months of construction work, the roadway and tracks were completely renewed over a length of several hundred metres, while additionally a new track triangle was installed to facilitate the future turnoff to the upper part of Wenceslas Square, where trams last ran in December 1980. With the rapid progress of track placement on St. Wenceslas Square itself, that new route is expected to be inaugurated by summer 2027.
On 11 September 12026, the Tatra T3R.PLF No. 8765 stands on the new tracks at the fully modernised Muzeum stop in Prague, which is now also equipped with electronic information boards for waiting passengers. Visible on the right is the new spur line to Wenceslas Square, as part of the newly installed track triangle. (Andrew Thompson).
