Christmas festivities have kicked off in the English city of Manchester, with Santa Claus taking over a tram stop and giving it a makeover. Commuters passing Shudehill have already spotted the stop’s new name ‘Sleighill’ and seen Santa in his distinctive yellow Bee Network outfit. The stop will keep its new name until the end of December, giving commuters a sprinkle of festive cheer in the run up to Christmas.

The season brings millions of visitors to Greater Manchester every year and the Bee Network is the best and most convenient way to get around, with discounted tickets for families and fast, frequent and later running services helping to save people time and money.

Families can enjoy great value tickets, with a group of one to three children and one or two adults able to enjoy unlimited off-peak travel on any bus for £9 or use of the full Metrolink network over an entire weekend (from 6pm on a Friday until last services on a Sunday) for £9.50 (now available on the Bee Network app).

Fran Wilkinson, Customer and Growth Director at TfGM, said: “We’re getting into the festive spirit at TfGM and I am so pleased Santa has been able to take some time out of his busy schedule in the run up to 25th December to say ‘yell-ho-ho-ho’ to our passengers out on the network. It’s a busy time of year with millions of people making the most of the Christmas markets and other events across the city-region. The Bee Network has a range of family tickets available across bus and tram travel that offer great value for money, making public transport the easiest and most affordable way to get around this Christmas. We are keen for Santa to meet and greet as many of our customers as he can, so please do share your festive Bee Network photos and Santa selfies with us on social media.”.
