Siemens Mobility has been appointed by the Singapore Land Transport Authority to lead a consortium with Concord Corporation Pte Ltd for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the power supply system for Singapore's eighth and newest Mass Rapid Transit system, the Cross Island Line. The contract value of the consortium has a volume of approximately 270 million Euros.

Michael Peter, CEO of Siemens Mobility: “We are proud to be chosen by the Singapore Land Transport Authority as its partner for electrifying the Cross Island Line. This underlines our long-term partnership to deliver a comprehensive rail infrastructure system, following the supply of our Trainguard MT Communications-based train control signaling system. Our power supply solution will combine the real and digital worlds to provide reliable, safe, and 100% available electrification on the line while optimizing lifecycle costs.”

For this project, Siemens Mobility will design, supply, install, test and commission the power supply system for CRL which includes 3 intake stations, a 22kV Medium Voltage System and a 1500V DC system.

Condition Monitoring System and Intelligent Fault Isolation System (“iFIS”) are also provided for enhanced performance management. The CRL power supply system is designed with proven modular features that facilitate future upgrades, allowing seamless integration and better interface connectivity between the power supply and signaling systems, for more sustainable and cost-effective operations overall.

The CRL will be fully-automated and driverless ready, enabled by the digital technologies provided by Siemens Mobility’s signalling and power supply systems.
