Bergamo, that operated a first-generation tramway from, 1884 to 1958, re-introduced trams in April 2009 using the alignment of a former railway line between the city and Albino (12.5km). 14 trams were supplied by AnsaldoBreda. Construction of a second line, to Villa d’Almé (11.5km) started in 2024, with a junction to the existing line at Bronzetti. 10 new trams were ordered from Skoda. It is hoped to start carrying passengers this summer.
