The weekend of 27 February to 1 March saw the annual BRIT Awards ceremony take place in Manchester for the first time. From Friday afternoon through to Saturday evening, PinkPantheress (the first woman to win Producer of the Year) delivered guest announcements on trams running from the city centre to the ceremony, reminding tram passengers that Etihad Campus is the stop for Co-op Live. Those travelling with tickets to the event were able to travel free of charge on the Bee Network operated by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM). Some were able to ride on Metroink tram 3107 that had been given a special livery featuring the famous BRIT Award statuette.

Clodagh Buckley, TfGM’s Head of Growth, said: 'Music is at the heart of Manchester’s culture and is fundamental to the city’s growth, making the BRIT Awards’ first visit here a truly significant moment. We can’t wait to welcome everyone heading into Manchester this weekend, and what better way to mark the occasion than to have PinkPantheress featuring as the voice of Metrolink on trams heading to Co-op Live, helping people get to the show smoothly’.
