Tram driving championship crown goes to Budapest

The 11th European tramdroiver Championship was held in Frankfurt-am-Main on 14 September 2024, using a temporarily closed tram line in Willy-Brandt-Platz to create a 200m course with six disciplines.
26 teams from 21 nations took part from cities around Europe with each team completing two competition runs. Disciplines included Perfect Stop, Emergency Brake, Tram Bowling and Tram Billiards.
When all the scores of the 52 runs were totalled, Team Budapest (Krisztina Schneider and Amos Bodnar) came first with 3850 points, closed followed by the Bruxelles/Brussel team with 3800, and Krakow were third with 3100 points.
The only British team from the West Midlands (Birmingham) achieved a creditable 14th place with 2150 points. Propping up the table were Team Zagreb.
The 12th Championship will be held in Wien (Vienna) in September 2025.
