The short branch of Midlands Metro that runs to the original terminus of Wolverhampton, St George’s, will see trams again from 29 September, over two years after it became disused due to inauguration of the extension to Wolverhampton railway station. It will be used on Monday-Saturday only between 07.00 and 19.00. And the initial re-opening will last only until 18 October, after which it will close for further works until re-opening permanently in early November. St George’s was the Wol;verhampton terminus of Midlands Metro from May 1999 until September 2023.

Further change to Midland Metro’s service pattern are expected in December when the Birmingham city centre branch to Millennium Point is opened for passenger service. In further disruption, the portion of line between Birmingham Library and Edgbaston Village will be closed from 19 to 30 October due to infrastructure work in Broad Street.
