Druzhkivka is a city in the Donetsk region that once had 50 000 residents, though many have fled the relentless Russian attacks of recent months. Tramway operation was halted due to damage from Russian shelling on 27 October. Although repair work started, on 1 November it was decided to abandon the 10.7km system and move the tram fleet away from the city to avoid further damage. At the end just eight ex-Kharkiv Tatra T3SU were operational on three lines, plus one ex-Praha T3. The ex-Kharkiv cars were originally delivered to Bratislava, Praha, Olomouc and Most. The tramway opened on 5 December 1945 and reached a maximum of 26.4km with 29 KTM-5 trams delivered in 1981-83. Operations were halted for similar reasons in April, but resumed after repairs.
