OVO Energy (‘an energy company that wants you to use less’) has paid for full vinyl advertising wraps on two Edinburgh trams, 271 and 273.

In a leap away from the standard Edinburgh livery, the wrap is green with the OVO logo and various slogans above or below the windows.

Both trams had previously carried adverting liveries, an easy way of bringing in more revenue to the system.

The city’s 18.5km (11.5 mile) tramline from Newhaven to the Airport is worked by 27 CAF Urbos 3 42.8m trams built in 2010-2012 (though the original line did not carry passengers until May 2014).

Service was extended from York Place to Newhaven in June 2023.
