In February 2020, the Polish producer Modertrans won a tender against Pesa, Stadler and the Turkish manufacturer Bozankaya and received an order from MPK Łódź for 30 low-floor 32.8m five-section Moderns Gamma LF06AC trams.

Originally, the entire series should have been delivered from March to September 2022, but the production schedule had to be adjusted due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The contract is valued at PLN 268.5M and is co-financed with EU funds.

The metre-gauge prototype reached Łódź in December 2022 and started regular deployment in early March 2023. As of this summer, these modern trams with their distinctive styling are now in squadron service under fleet numbers 2370-2399 and predominantly used on the long north-south line 11 between Helenówek and Chocianowice Ikea.

The metre-gauge Gamma in Łódź have an 88% low-floor ratio and swivelling outer bogies and therefore differ from their three-part standard gauge cousins in Poznań and Wrocław. They can accommodate 227 passengers.
