New train Ivolga 4.0 is being tested on Moscow Central Diameters
Three new Ivolga 4.0 trains, purchased by the Moscow Metro with the funds of the infrastructure loan and already leased to the carrier Central Suburban Passenger Company, are in the running-in period without passengers. The reliability and safety of the trains is now being tested on the Nakhabino - Volokolamsk - Nakhabino section of the route.

Ivolga 4.0 is Russia's newest urban electric train, which is designed specifically for the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD). It was developed and is manufactured by Transmashholding, Russia's largest transport machine building company. Production of the Ivolga is organized at the Tver Carriage Factory.

The main difference of Ivolga 4.0 to earlier models is the number of doors: there are 3 doors in each car, except for the head car as well as new upholstery colour scheme.

"The modern Ivolga 4.0 train combines innovative solutions and technologies for fast and comfortable journeys. Among its features is a third door in the intermediate cars, which will allow passengers to get in and out of the train faster. On the instructions of the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, we plan to completely renew the rolling stock on the MCD-3 by the end of this year, and on the MCD-4 - by the end of 2025", - said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport
