The new Jeremenkova depot has opened in Olomouc, which is the smallest of the Czech tram systems.

The 105m long hall has three roads and can accommodate nine coupled sets of single bogie cars. Light maintenance work can also be carried out on site.

The new depot became necessary to accommodate the increased fleet sized, thanks to network extensions. At present six coupled sets are there overnight. The depot cost over CZK 300.M and 85% of the cost was met from EU funds.

The local public transport operator DPMO currently is looking to buy nine more 16 m long bogie cars with 25% low-floor access and published a tender in summer 2023. The city of Olomouc opened its standard-gauge tramway in April 1899 and today a fleet of 69 trams operates seven lines over 15km. The fleet includes 18 modernised Tatra T3 trams dating from 1983-87. A new 2.6km line to Nové Sady has been built in two stages, opening in 2013 and 2022.
