Knorr-Bremse has announced a partnership with Stadler to equip at least 246 of their Citylink LRV's with innovative braking and climate control technologies.

The agreement, which includes options for a further 258 vehicles will see the technology being deployed across six local transit companies in Austria and Germany.

The already pioneering vehicles are able to travel between urban and rural areas and Knorr-Bremse see them as a perfect opportunity to showcase their safety innovations.

The LRV's will be equipped with fully hydralic braking systems which will be optimised fully to suit the vehicles' specific design.
As well as this, Knorr-Bremse will be installing climate control systems whic will control the air flow and climate in both the passenger compartments and the driver's cab.

'For the mobility transition to succeed, it's crucial to make rail transportation even more attractive and readily available. We're delighted to to be able to contribute to the safety, reliability and comfort of rail travel by applying our systems expertise to the equipment required for our customer Stadler's long term projects' said Dr Nicholas Lange, member of the executive board of Knorr-Bremse.
