9 more alston citadis low-floor trams have been ordered in Toulouse
In early April, Toulouse (France) transport operator Tisseo  placed an EUR 312m order with Alstom transport for nine more Citadis low-floor trams. They will be delivered in time for the inauguration of the Aeroport Express shuttle service between Blagnac (Jean Maga) and Blagnac Airport, which is due to start in December 2026. There will be interchange with the new métro line C at Jean Maga.

The trams will carry a distinctive bronze livery instead of the regular grey Tisseo colours. They will be part of a joint order with other French cities: Brest (8 trams) and Besançon (5 trams).

Toulouse started tramway operation on line T1 in December 2010, and the line to the airport, T2, was opened in April 2015 as a regular tram service to the city centre. With the arrival of the third métro line in 2026, the airport tram line will be recast as a fast shuttle to the nearby métro station, operating every five minutes and replacing the shuttle bus service inaugurated in April 2022. At the same time the peak headway on line T1 will be boosted to every 4’30. This will boost passenger capacity and improve the overall passenger experience for those using the service.
