The Rail Family Makes A Huge Difference To Young People

Mainspring were delighted to present the Royal School for the Deaf Derby with a cheque for £11,970 raised at the ‘Dinner at the Roundhouse 2022’ event.
Made through direct donations and bids on the silent auction, the amount will make an enormous difference to the lives of young deaf children.
Head Teacher Paul Burrows, who spoke at the event, said: ‘I am overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who attended the Mainspring dinner. The money raised indicates the level of kindness of the rail industry and their determination to be an inclusive industry.”
The school hopes to build a specially adapted deaf-aware outdoor classroom- something that is top of the students’ wish list. However, more funds are needed to help make this dream a reality.
